To display or not to display...that is the question! ;)

So I've got the following category levels:
Epson > Stylus Series > Stylus C50

I have a logo at the Epson level, nothing at the Series level, and an image of the printer at the C50 level.

At the series level, I don't want any image to show up...just a list of different "series" of printers. I tried using just a "white.jpg" image...but that leaves too much space. I've also tried finding "generic" images...but I can't always find one.

Is there a way to have only a "listing" at certain levels?

Suggestions?
