Hey,

Sorry if this seem's like a dumb question but ive just started using open cart so i have no idea.

So for my store im planning on two shipping methods.

royal mail for small items

and collect plus shipping for large items (or large orders)

so i was wondering is there any way to have shipping + price decided on the items purchased at the checkout.

for example if the by a set of boots the shipping will be collect plus no matter what else they order
where as if the only buy a whistle it would be royal mail at "this price" but if you buy a whistle and a boot kit it will be royal mail at "that price" and so on.

sorry im just really confused i only want my customers to pay what it will cost me to send.

You can't combine multiple shipping methods, so you'll need to decide which single shipping method you want to use for all the products in the cart. If you want to recreate the Royal Mail rates yourself, you could use Product-Based Shipping or Category-Based Shipping to set up costs based on the products or categories in the cart. Otherwise, you need to figure out a weight formula that will work for you, and use the built-in Royal Mail or Weight Based shipping methods.

If you just need to show different shipping methods based on the products in the cart, you could use Restrict Shipping Methods instead. It allows you to enable/disable shipping methods based on the products in the cart.
