We received an email showing payment made and an OC order number ( and I have checked with card payment provider that this is genuine and we have received the payment) but there is no corresponding order number in the OC order list. The next order has gone through ok, leaving an apparent "gap" for the order number that was paid for

In other words the customer has placed an order, checked out, paid for it but OC has failed to log the details lthough it did allocate an order number for it.)

Anyone had anything like this? Fortunately I have an emil address for the customer so can contact her to find out wht she wanted and where she wanted it delivered, but its weird

(No email notifications of the order either as we old normally expect and receive)

On the orders page filter the orders for "missing" status. It should show up there. You can then change the order status to pending or whatever status you normally use.

That's found it - thanks, but do you know how/why it ends up with that status in the first place?

Your welcome. Search the forums for "missing orders". You should find plenty of posts about it. IIRC one of the issues had to do with PayPal but can't remember for sure. Please mark the title solved.

I did that already and although i did find oeople who had the same oroblem nobidy seems to have been able to explain why it happens - as far as i could find. Unfortunately as you are no doubt aware a search for missing orders brings up any post with the words missing and orders but not only the phrase missing orders so there are literally 120 pages of posts to wade through - so I may have missed it!
