The modules of Q, a fee, are arranged and when to change version of OpenCart must buy back the same modules even arranged version.
For those who buy a module should have updates for free.

Are not all fools! One day they might open their eyes!
1. Seems the only fools are those who speak without knowing what they are talking about.
All updates for my modules are free. I have not yet charged for an upgrade since I started making modules back around 1.0

2. Your comments have nothing to do with what yakiv said. He only wants the modules to be in a separate directory tree for organizational purposes. That can be easily done with few lines of code.

That has nothing to do with me or my modules or anyone else's modules. If you are going to post on a topic with an assertive means, then I suggest you first know the full topic.

Correct, Q. ...My main issue is installing and uninstalling modules and keeping the code clean and the files/folders clean. ...If it really only takes a few lines of code to make these adjustments, then why not just get it done for 1.3.5? Wouldn't everyone be happier?

...You may be correct, about Open Cart performing better than PrestaShop. I cannot speak to that; I use VPS' and dedicated servers and have not tested performance yet. However, what I can say is that the folder and file structure of PrestaShop impressed me right away. ...So, if Open Cart improved this issue, I would be totally sold-out to Open Cart.

I have no decisions on what goes into the code. I can only offer a modification to do it

The module structure of PrestaShop is the way of handeling that, the performance of PS is not so impressive + there are to many issue's with it. Every release has bug-fixes, new features and thus new bugs.
Second is that no-one of the developers of PS listen to the users on the forums or even respond to questions/issues.
I must say that the main stream of users of PS have no knowledge of PS or php/MySQL and thus you see a lot of basic questions over and over again because of the lack of documentation.

Hi All,

The new backend looks great!

Are there any plans in a future release to revamp the front end? Although it is very easy to customise I think it is a bit lacklustre and not as sophicated in comparison to some of the other open source default templates out there.

I agree, the front-end should be re-done.
As this is an OpenSource project maybe some of the template builders here could chip in.
But that is for Daniel to say if he would agree to a new build front-end.

We have a say in The Netherlands "Met de Franse slag",
which is "Done by the French" and means that it is not so good ;D

I think it goes way back to the days Napoleon occupied The Netherlands.

Cool! I'll remember that. I didn't know about this saying. :-)

I was just thinking that the current default theme might put people off wanting to use open cart which would be shame as its fantastic. I spent a bit off time googling shops that have been created using open cart and the majority of them have just kept with the default template or customised it slightly by changing colours etc.

I know there are plenty of template themes available but I think one of the beauties of open cart is its simplicity and would imagine that a lot of people stick with the default template because they feel they are not technically savvy enough to change it over or don't have the time or a good design eye to feel comfortable enough to do this.

People can be quite fickle and often judges a book by its cover. I don't mean to be critical as I do really like open cart and want to see it succeed.

Oddly only a year ago the theme is what attracted people. I still think it blows many default themes out of the water.. it just looks old here because you see so much of it. I think the point is to have a very generic, but clean default template for reasons of forcing people to be more unique. I once asked at zencart why the theme was so ugly, and the reply was that ugly themes force people to change them right away to look better, and therefore there are fewer that look the same.

Maybe opencart's current theme is too pretty.

Personally, as someone new to Open Cart, when I did a vanilla installation of the software, I was amazed by the front-end theme. I was shocked that the out-of-the-box theme would look SO good. So, I don't know what everyone is complaining about.

Not too sure about that, I think it could benefit from looking more sophistacted like the new backend, a bit more web2 (hate that phrase!!). I think the current default looks a bit amateurish .

I am not against a clean default template to force people to be more unique but as I found when I looked at a lot of other oc sites people haven't tried to be unique and have just stuck with the default.

I think this is where your problem lies. If you werent so sick of seeing the same theme, you might think differently. But compare opencart to zencart or oscommerce default theme and you will happily take opencarts default.

Exactly, Q. This is exactly how I see it. The default oscommerce is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Butt ugly. And zencart is right along with it. So, when I saw Open Cart's beautiful default theme and that it was FREE and OPEN SOURCE, I about cried!

I don't think the default theme needs to be trashed and started again. The layout and position of everything on the template are fine, its just the cosmetics which give it is polish which could look better. It's difficult to talk about things without using Magento as measuring mark but the magento default template does have a sophisctacted feel to it but I think the layout is cack. Does that make sense!

My I point out that osCommerce is not theme/themplate based so changing the look would mean editing a lot of files or installing a mod.
