Hi everyone - thanks in advance

Ok so I currently have a TNT calculator on our website which calculates freight on all our products to Australian destinations, based on the weight & volume of the product details.

This works well.

However, I want to be able to offer free shipping if more than a certain quantity of a particular product is purchased (e.g) pallet quantity)

Unfortunately - all my products require different figures for qualification, and all my products range in price quite considerably - so I can't use a subtotal based free shipping method.

My only other thought was to set all individual product weights so that a pallet quantity will always total e.g 50kgs.
E.G Product A, weighs 1kg, 50 on a pallet qualifies for free shipping, so make 50kg the option to which free shipping applies vs the standard volumetric calculator.
Product B weight 0.5kg, qualifies once 100 are orders.
But this doesn't seem to work with the standard weight based shipping as what happens to the weights between 0 & 49.9kg?

(volumetric calculations are always greater than the weight of the product anyway so weight isn't really required)

Am I missing something?

Thanks

A weight-based scheme like you've suggested seems like it should work. The default Weight Based Shipping has to specify every bracket, but if you use an extension like my Weight-Based Shipping one, you can skip the 0-49.99 bracket by just not specifying one. Then you can set a bracket to give free shipping like this:

From: 50, To: 99999, Charge: 0

Another option that might be better, if you want to disable the TNT option when Free Shipping is available, would be to use Restrict Shipping Methods. Then you could enable TNT when the weight was less than 50, and the built-in Free Shipping when the weight was 50 or more.

The restrict shipping method seems like it should work.

I tried uploading the module but now my admin page is not coming up saying "The page you requested cannot be found!"

EDIT Fixed - pesky permissions got changed. Changed them back and all is working fine.

Now that I have it installed I need help in making it work!
I want free shipping to apply when customers have more than 45kgs in their cart

When I enable the below, no shipping options come up on the site

EDIT again..Didn't realise the crucial piece of information was "Select options for when something should be enabled" vs select options for when it should be restricted.

Fantastic

Glad it's working for you now. If you have further questions about the extension in the future, feel free to contact me at the e-mail address in the extension files, or at www.getclearthinking.com/contact
