I have tried every option in this thread and a few from some others, nothing is fixing this for me. I have products with seventeen plus options and it crashes once I hit about the sixteenth option.

Request comment on appropriate approach(es).

Enabling caching ("enabling useCache")
http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 20#p210073
http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 20#p244394

seems no longer appropriate or at least unnecessary in recent versions to do given this
http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 20#p244274

and would seem a normally conditional decision for any version vintage in this
http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 20#p244394

leaving the first as a reasonable approach reasonably balanced by trying and retreating from it in the last, BUT how does all of that fit with current and recent releases of vqmod itself?

Guessing, try it, all else might have failed, even among mutually version-compatible recent versions of everything involved.

Skip it or try it?

Do a search for max_input_vars. That's your solution. It's been discussed many, many times.

Hi

Opencart 1.5.5.1
with VQMOD

We have few products with more than 75 OPTIONS and still facing the same issue.

is there a permanent solution for this ?
is this related to any limit on SHARED hosting ?

its dependent on your server's settings. We may need to revisit the way these admin pages are saved and start saving in smaller parts of forms using ajax to resolve this permanently for all servers.

Hi

1. does it mean that we donot have PERMANENT Solution for this now ?

2. Iam asking bcoz this is NOT working even after increasing server settings to MAXIMUM

3. this is leaving us in a situation where we have to move out from OPENCART

1. Not at the moment, only to have a better server
2. Then your server likely doesn't allow overriding from your side. You may need to ask them to do it on the server side
3. That may be the only option for now.

The only fix I can see (and I can't find my other post showing the example) is to change the options to be saved via ajax instead of being part of the overall form post of the product edit page. This way each option is saved in the background as it is added so only the few fields that are shown per-option will be sent back which is much less than the 60+ being sent back now when the product is saved. This, however, isn't a simple task because of so many other mods that rely on the current system. If we could convince daniel to make this change in the core, then it would set the standard and we'd all have to make our mods adapt.

My site suffered from this too. My site has about 90-100 option values. I will have to see whether the hosting company can fix this for me, otherwise I have to switch hosting company.
