Hello Administrator,

I struggled a bit to find the real live shops and through out the section i could see only themes advertising from ThemeForest and similar theme sellers.

Personally i felt very annoyed that this section is used for their publicity and not good for showcasing normal users websites which are real shopping website built by actual users.

I submitted my website http://bagsvags.com/ here but i felt bad when it doesn't show up here under the live shop section since ThemeForest seems to have occupied all the space for themselves.

Please if possible remove all the commercial theme sellers links and allow the section for genuine live sites. I wouldn't mind if there are 2 sections to it one for genuine live sites and other for these commercial theme sellers.

Please share your views with your replies.

thanks for your time to read this.

mythuns, your very first post needs to be approved, and that can take a little while. You were registered for only 0:23 when you posted here, and that really isn't long enough for Moderators or Administrators to get to your first post, because there are others ahead of you.

The clicks to reach this forum are few:
Board Index: http://forum.opencart.com/index.php
Then in bottom box, 2nd entry, Live Shops: http://forum.opencart.com/viewforum.php?f=11
Then in 2nd (big) box, Live Shops posted: such as this thread, momentarily at the top as most recent,
your present: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=108153

Very few of the entries on the first several pages make any mention of themeforest; at least one entry used a theme obtained through themeforest.

I suggest posting a new thread about and linking to your website, separate from this thread. Look at a few of the entries, you will instantly see how other folks start a thread on Live Shops.

I've contacted Daniel about this a few times, but I don't think he minds it. Personally I think it defeats the purposes of having a "Live Shops" label, since none of them are live shops. I'm not sure why he wants themes in there rather than actual live shops, but it's not likely to change any time soon.

Johnathan, there may be something duplicated in the forum's own categorical and subcategorical settings (the ones accessible only to forum Administrators and optionally also Moderators). Whenever I access Live Shops" via the short series of links above, I see "Live Shops" populated primarily by Live Shops, new (and soon enough recent) ones, among at least the first several pages. Among the first several pages I have not seen the lack of Live Shops in "LIve Shops" that mythuns and you seem to have encountered as a matter of course. I expect among "Live Shops" the new and recent Live Shops that I actually see here whenever I look here.

The "live shops" area we're talking about is the one accessible through the menu at the top. The "Live Shops" forum you're speaking of does contain mostly live shops -- moderators are able to delete spam there, which is why it's better maintained. If we had access to edit the main Live Shops area, I would do so, but it's only available to OpenCart admins.

Well, now, there it is -- I had never poked anything under Featured on the Menu bar. So, yes, there is a duplication in the forum setup itself (or between interlaced forum and OC), between two "Live Shops" and just as I didn't notice the upper one in looking for new and recent shops, mythuns didn't notice the lower one to post his shop. Thank you, makes sense now.
