new textfield to flat shipping

Hi,

Please help me how to add a textfield to the flat shipping module. (or a select options field).
I'd like to do a Jquery based autocomplete searching within the textfield.
but i cannot figure out how to add a textfield (or any select element) to a shipping module.

What are you trying to accomplish? If you want different shipping methods to be selectable, you just need to create multiple options for the shipping extension. For example, take a look at my tutorial on how to do this with the built-in Weight Based Shipping:

Otherwise, you can use the "Comments" field if you just need additional information from a customer.

i'd like to modify for example flat shipping module. Under the module i need a field : pickup from post office.
user could select from offices list to pickup the package.

but the comment field is global. if the user select other shipping method, there is no need to the post offices list.

If you need a dropdown select box, you'll need to get an extension to do that. Try searching the opencart.com extension store
