Thanks, Peter. Yes, Product-Based Shipping should work for you, although if you have more than a few dozen shipping charges, it may not be the best solution for you. If each product is just a per-item rate though (e.g. $6 per item for Product A) then you can probably just use a weight-based system.
You would set the weight of the product to the cost (6.00) and then use Weight-Based Shipping to set up a rate like this:
From: 0, To: 99999, Charge: 0.01, Per (lb): 0.01
That would charge $0.01 per 0.01 unit of weight, meaning the total cart weight would be the shipping charge. Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site (which includes some examples of various set-ups), then let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.

Thanks Peter and Johnathan for your extended support.
Both the options, suggested Product based shipping and weight based shipping dont fullfill our requirements.
The problem with Weight based shipping may arise when we want to set different Flat rates for similar weight of products.
and with Product based shipping is same as Johnathan mentioned that when we have a few dozen shipping charges, it may not be the best solution.
Is any other option available to help us with this problem.
Thanks for your cooperation in advance.

What do you mean you will have a few dozen shipping charges?
I thought it would be a set $6 or $7 as described in your original post?

Yes, I meant more than a few dozen different charge amounts. For example, all the products with $6 charges could be grouped together, if it was a $6 per item charge. So unless you have varying charge amounts (e.g. $6.01, $6.03, $6.55, $6.70, etc.) then it might work for you.
Otherwise, instead of a weight-based system, if you aren't using the product dimensions you could utilize a similar volume-based system. You'd then set to charge $0.01 per unit of volume. For example, a product with a $7.50 shipping charge would have the dimensions 7.5 x 1 x 1
Or, you can search the extension store for other possibilities. I know there are some other product shipping extensions, although I'm not sure if there's one that works exactly like you want.
