I'm looking for a tool that will cleanup directories of old images and also provide a list of products and categories that don't have images.

I've used tools on other e-commerce platforms that scan the image directories to find unused images and then work through the database to check if products have images assigned to them.

Is anyone aware of such a tool?

Hi there, firstly BACKUP YOUR IMAGES because I haven't tested myself.

I found this topic which might help you. it has a VQMod extension that does this.

if you have any problems please let me know ;)

Hi Pedro,

That's a good starting point. What I'm aiming for is:

1) Run script
2) Show list of broken product images (and export as CSV - to send to client maybe)
3) Show list of unlinked images to products (with an option to delete them)

That vqmod looks like a good starter for 10. Thanks

Pete

I believe the script simply removes them. To do what you are wanting to do will require a little further coding. I would recommend hiring a developer for something like that as there is no simple way of doing this.
