I recently switched from OSCommerce to open cart. I wish I would have found open cart long ago. Anyhow, I am asking you all to please take a look and give suggestions, I am not that creative and am looking for help.

Welcome aboard OC. You're off to a good start. Given RW&B your red and blue trim on white are working okay for you. I would accordingly change black text to Navy blue. Your Terms and Conditions are about intellectual property rights rather than contractual and legal matters. You can say whatever wherever you wish, but you're going against the grain, and everything you've said there is bundled by law and by custom and practice in two expressions, most notably "Copyright (c) [year] by [Who]." and "TM" (the "(R)") is not to be used till it's actually been registered. (I'm not attempting here to use the andcopy and andmark symbols).

You invite wonder whether you even attempt or even have any control whatsoever over who buys what, most notably medals and ribbons. There was a time when medals and ribbons were handed over by Officers and were replaced by way of more paperwork than college kids turn in. Obtaining or replacing them with shipping for under twenty bucks via web was unheard of, and for other reasons was entirely unthinkable. Out on the streets where genuine Marines and others camouflaged as honorably discharged civilians happen to lurk in large numbers in plain view, pretentious misuses of medals and ribbons tend to be hazardous to wrongdoer health or peace of mind. The other products are more a matter of however somebody cares to knock his socks off or whatever floats his boat. Medals, ribbons, no.

Your servers are all Stateside (as are you), good.

Thank You very much for the input. As far as the medals and ribbons are concerned, they were coming off this evening just for the reasons you stated. Never thought of the text color, will change that shortly. I will also work on the terms and conditions. Again, Thank You!

I forgot to mention your comment about the colors being "okay", would you suggest any changes?

I happen to like the red-white-and-blue approach, its perfectly appropriate for Leathernecks and others who serve. Taking black to Navy blue, and other colors I may not have noticed to red or blue, should tidy that up nicely. If your dark colors for text are on the order of "33" they may be too dark, "66" or "99" will be dark enough, "AA" and higher will tend to become too light. (Those would be basic "#000033, #000066, #000099, for blues, flipped to trailing zeroes for reds, and variants can have touches of the leading pair, redness, or middle pair, greenness, to suit your own eye.) Monitors' "white" varies in intensity even without dialing that up or down. Ya done good.

Thank you very much. I am going to continue to tweak, and with being on a very tight budget, due to income, I will be searching the free extensions to see what I can come up with. Now if I can just get actual buying customers.
Again, Thank You.

Customers will trickle in for a little while, engines will take a couple of weeks to start getting things right, some engines will take literally 90+ days. You'll have a bit of help from having put up your shop link here, engines will already have noticed and probably already looked at the website.

Your layout is distinctive enough that you don't need to mess with "themes" but some of the extensions and modifications that perform various functions can be useful. Right off the bat look for "vqmod manager" vqmm_menu_shortcut.xml, "improved backup" backups_improved.xml, and "disable upload" disable_upload.xml, all by seasoned authors and free (run Search top right), and the .xml get along together. You'll want to get the latest vqmod from vqmod.com itself, get the OC (rather than the general) package, and install according to instructions there, if you haven't already. Remember to flush the vqmod cache when you make changes, much as flushing the browser cache, so that you can readily see what you just changed. Try not to go overboard with extensions and modifications, some of them don't get along well together, so add 'em one by one or spend time figuring out whatchadid whenmaybe yadid (those first three can go in together).

I'll add the three links in a little while. [Back.]

for ocreset.php (read instructions, keep it out of public area on server, just put it there when you need it, since for example you can launch it by name as "[.../admin/]ocreset.php" from the address bar).
