I'm planning to move off of Zen Cart over to Open Cart, OC has a lot better admin and buyer features over all...

What I see missing however is a connection over to the USPS Label Printing Service that they have. This module, though a little rough around the edges is on Zen Cart and I've been using it for a little over 18 months and while it has an unfixed bug in entering the shipper zipcode, its a minor thing that I've learned to deal with...

However I still need to be able to print labels from my customer orders and this appears to be lacking in OpenCart...

This may help if someone were to look at the Zencart USPS label Printing module, the code should be able to be slide into Opencart without too many headaches and would certain make a LOT of people (me included) very happy...

If this ended up being a pay-for module/extension, I'd gladly pay for it, I know that much.

Regards,
Curt

Hi
I was also looking for a USPS label module for one of my clients but didn't find any. So I have developed my own module for USPS shipping labels for domestic services. I am working on the APIs of the USPS label for International services and will be up soon. If you can like, you can get the module here...

cheers!!

I saw that this is going slow for 1.5, but hoping it will be soon.

Couple questions.

1. Will there be an option to batch print? or do you have to go order by order?
2. From where is the shipping info pulled? I currently use a the dimension based shipping module, and not clear how this will interface.

yes, this is going slow... here are the answer to ur questions
1)currently there is no batch print option. But its a nice idea and i would try to make it incorporated.
2) It pulls the basic info from the USPS built-in shipping module, and also gets the weight of the products to fills the shipping info.

thanks.

Hi,
The order that you selected might had the invalid US address. i have updated the order as there were few test orders made by users while testing. So USPS checks the validity of the addresses first. check it again now. All the settings are available under Extensions->Module->USPS Label navigation. You can create the test order from front-end and generate the label for it from admin side.
Thanks.

So it looks like the customer can pick any shipping option, without regard to size or fit of item?

I am not totally clear on how USPS knows what to charge you or how the package size and info.

Hi,
You can use the USPS shipping option at the front. The shipping label will be generated on the basis of "weight". As USPS api looks for the weight & the Service Type (i.e. priority, express, etc.) to determine the post charges. Moreover, certain service types doesn;t allow the package weighing more than a threshold, so this module will take care of this when you will select the service type while generating labels.
Hope I clarified. Please feel free to ask any questions.
