Wordpress and opencart on the same directory

Hello there,

I have a Wordpress site set up which is working fine. I want a shop on the same domain and would like to use open cart. I will include a link in the menu bar to the opencart shop. Just wanted to know how to install open cart on the my domain that has Wordpress installed in the root folder. Do I set up a new folder called shop in the root directory and a new database called shop in MySQL an install opencart within those two places? Will I have to change any paths within the opencart file structure. Will I need to change any files in the root directory? Thanks in advance
