The OpenCart Programming Structure

Dear All.

I am really exited using opencart as it has solved my many problems of a web 2.0 ecommerce site.
Thanks to the team developed it.

I am confused regarding the OpenCart structure of programming how it works. Can any one please help me and  giving me some insight on it.

I beleive it uses the model-view-controller programming pattern.  more information on the pattern can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model-view-controller

Would it be worth setting up a Wiki so we can all work on the documentation together?

I can host a Wiki, though it might be best if it was linked in with the Opencart site.

Thanks for reply I am already using code igniter and zendframe for my projects but still I am confused regarding the frame work of open cart as there are many things are different these days I have start devoting time for understanding the coding techniques of open cart but if Daniel will help us providing us basic structure  information we all will be greatfull to him that we are already too  . 

Caldazar I like your suggestion of wiki please if you can launch one I will be the first writer of it.

v8 has changed the layout and location of folders/files. I expect it will be easier to use.
I wouldn't start any new documention on the old releases.
