Hello All

I'm using 1.5.4 and my rates for UPS Ground are way off! I tried the suggestions giving regarding changing the package dimensions and my rates are still way off.

When I used the suggested 10 10 10 my rates for say example Hawaii were $40.96 instead of $6.
Dropping the dimensions to 1 1 1 did not help my rates lowered to $26.9.

What do I need to do to get accurate shipping rates for UPS Ground?

This is what I have so far in the module
Access Key, User Name and Password all all correct
Pickup Method = Daily
Packaging Type = Package
Customer Classification Code = 03
Shipping Origin Code = US Origin
Origin City, State, Country & Zip Code = Rockingham, NC, US, 28379
Test Mode = No
Quote Type = Residential
Services = Standard Ground
Enable Insurance = No
Display Delivery Weight = No
Weight Class = pound
Length Class = inches
Dimensions = 10 10 10 (doesn't matter what I put really)
Tax Class = Taxable goods
GeoZone = US shipping
Status = enabled
Sort Order = 2
DeBug = Disabled

Well you said package size of 10 x 10 x 10 was 40.96
compared to 1 x 1 x 1 which was 26.90
so that's a pretty significant difference

But you've said nothing about the total package weight which is what really matters the most.

Testing on ups.com for a package from
ROCKINGHAM, 28379 UNITED STATES
To:
HONOLULU, 96801 UNITED STATES
at 1lb and 10x10x10 shows:
Ground: 35.35 USD

Same rate for 1x1x1

So for that size box it really doesn't matter. It really only matters for larger/oversized boxes
But the weight changes the rate
2lbs shows 38.96
3lbs shows 42.11

So I'm not sure where you are expecting to see $6.00 as not even local Chicago to Chicago is that cheap unless you are Amazon.com and have a huge deal with ups to allow shipping across an ocean for $6

Thanks for getting back to me Qphoria.

Dang I feel stupid, you're right I was reading the wrong zone on the UPS chart. :-[

While I got you, can you please explain why I have to enter title for the alt tag in order for it to show up? I've tried Chrome, IE, FireFox - all the same.
If I enter the alt tag text from the image editor it won't show up at all.

Code: Select all

<img alt="flea market finds" src="http://swdvariety.com/image/data/flea market finds.JPG" style="width: 195px; height: 317px; float: left; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;"  />
I have to go into the source and edit alt to say title and then the editor places it at the end like so:

Code: Select all

<img src="http://swdvariety.com/image/data/flea market finds.JPG" style="width: 195px; height: 317px; float: left; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;" title="flea market finds" />
and it seems to work fine. Should I be doing it this way? Seems like a lot of work. Thanks.

Oh and one last question: I've had some really great people like yourself help me out. I'm learning so much here and I want to donate to the cause. How do I do that? Thanks

Alt is for broken/disabled images
Title is for the tooltip that you see when you hover

As far as donations... you can donate to the project here (button on the right):

You can also donate to individual users if they have a donate button in their footer
