I feel it would be useful to have the order status set-up as Major/Minor. There are statuses the customer might not need to be aware of but help with the order management.
So the customer just sees the major order status but in the backend we can see the minor order status.
By default, the customer does not see statuses in order history unless you check on "notify customer" - so you could consider the ones you notify them of the "major" ones.
Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
But the status still shows to the customer when they view their orders in the account section.
