ANOTHER Stock Fedex Mod Issue

Hi all, I've been searching the forums for a fix for my FEDEX issue, but haven't been successful. I have gone through and ensured that my postal code is set to “required” for the country. However, there are two issues I'm experiencing. The second isn't a big deal (I don't think).

First, whenever I enable the stock Fedex module, I can't get the shipping quotes to even appear. If I disable it, the quotes pop up like normal. In my error logs, I'm getting the following error:
I have no idea what to do as everything is set properly for the quote (Country, state, and zip). When looking at the countries, the US ISO Code 2 is "US". However, in the quotes page, it says "United States". Could this be the issue?

My second, less important issue, is that whenever I go into the settings for the module, I set the package type to "your packaging". However, when I go back into the settings page, it's ALWAYS set to Fedex Envelope.

I would really appreciate some guidance on these problems. I'd really like to offer Fedex to my customers without having to purchase a mod when there's one built in already.

I know this is a commonly complained about issue, but is there anyone who might be able to answer my question? I know I'm ignorant of advanced coding and such, but I was hoping mine wasn't a difficult issue.
