Theme will not change from default

Hi,
I can't get the default theme to change on my store. I installed the free Miwa theme under catalog/view/theme. It shows up in the OC store under settings but when I select it and save changes, my store remains as the default theme. Even though the Miwa theme is selected, when i go to the Store Front, the default theme is still there.

I followed all the instructions given and have checked the necessary file permissions ( i think). Am I missing something? Has my OC been set up so that only the default store layout can be used? It came pre-installed with my hosting, but I reistalled it and followed all the steps, but still getting the same problem.

I have version 1.5.2.1.

Did you clear your browser's cache and history and then try?

Yes I did. I also tried installing open cart on a subdirectory- my website.com/store, and then installed the template. It worked this way, but I want it in my main site.

Has this issue been resolved? I am having the same problem and have tried the same suggestions. Other forums have gone dead on the topic also. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes I resolved the issue. I can't remember exactly how but I think I had installed in on the wrong directory... sorry i couldn't be more help.
