Where can I find a step by step installation guide on an host like 1and1? This is my first shopping cart to install and need very detailed instructions. I went through all the topics in this forum but couldn't find a complete one. Could anybody please point me to the right place? Thank you very much.
I doubt you'll find "exactly" what you want, but I do have a recommendation:

Install xampp then simply copy the files into the htdocs folder on your local computer. You should be able to hit the url:
http://localhost/
and have it walk you through the install. From there you can also go to:
http://localhost/phpmyadmin
and create a new user/database.
Simply type this stuff in and go through the install process. You can then play on a local system and understand how it works in a very simple manner.
I think you'll learn more from spending 20 minutes doing this than you will by reading someone else's notes.
