Hi, when installing Opencart i get an error message saying "Download directory needs to be writable for OpenCart to work!". Can someone please advise me on how to make the download directory writable?I would appreciate any assistance. Please see attached screenshot. Thanks

You also need to fix the register Globals and Magic Quote's issue.
You can change the settings on the download dir via your FTP program and set CHMOD to 777 or ask your hoster.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't realise you could change file permissions using your FTP program. Everything working now. It installed after i changed all the file permissions. I didn't have to change Globals or Magic Quote. Thanks again

Well as i said i changed the directories listed on the screenshot and made them all writable. After that i clicked 'continue' and was able to complete the installation without having to change anything else, including Globals or Magic Quote. Is that ok or should i still change Globals or Magic Quote? If so how do i fix them?
It says requiered, whu is that do you think?

Well why if it is 'required' was it able to let me install opencart? Surely if it was a requirement then it wouldn't allow me to complete the installation!
