Moving search box, and like box q

Hi all, newbie here.

I have 2 questions, firstly how can I move the search box (and possibly the cart box, i'm not sure yet) from the top right to the left column?

Also, I have a facebook likebox currently on the homepage, how can I get this to also show on the maintenance page?

Go easy with me please, new to all this

To add it to maintanance page you would have to edit the file catalog/view/theme/yourtheme/template/common/maintenance.tpl and manually add the facebook likebox code inside the content div.

Very helpful thank you I've decided to leave the cart/search where they are but have used the fb one
