Gift Voucher not sent to recipient

I'm running Opencart 1.5.4.1 with vqmod 2.1.7

I can as a customer choose a gift voucher and pay for it. As an admin I can see the order and set the status to complete. The problem is that nothing happens when I press the send-button on the gift voucher-page. It comes up a please wait-sign for a half a second and then it disappears. I've checked if the code generated from the voucher is valid and it is.
I've searched around without finding anyone with the same problem. Any suggestions?

Update:
When I create a voucher from the admin-panel, it will succeed to send the email, but not when it's created from the customer side. I have set the orders to complete and checked that the complete order status in system>settings>store>option is set to complete. Anyone know why?

I unfort. don't have an answer for you, however I have the same problem of the recipient of the gift voucher not receiving the email... OC 1.5.4.1, and the status was set to COMPLETE, as is yours, and the gift voucher shows up as having been ordered.

Am hoping someone can help with this situation!

I've got the same problem and I'm going around in circles with it.

If anyone knows what the cause of this problem is, I'd very much appreciate you posting the fix.
