1.5.5.1 order email not being sent after upgrade

i upgraded from version 1.5.1.3 to the latest build because i was having issues with new vqmods not working, my first step was to upgrade the vqmod to the latest version and then opencart, i installed everything by the book as this is a live running business and didnt want anything going wrong , as far as i know it all went well the vqmods are working and iam taking orders fine but the issue is the new order email has topped working, i get emails when new customers sign up but no emails when there is a new order i have another email address set up in the admin area to send emails to as well but both email accounts dont get the emails. the customers gets the email notification...help please anyone.

I just wanted to add that I am having the same problem with 1.5.5.1 (upgraded from 1.5.4.1). I tried using the very latest "mail.php" file from GIT that removes double newlines and it did not solve the problem. I am able to get new customer emails and contact us works but order notifications do not. I will start poking around to see if I can fix this problem but would greatly appreciate if anyone has any suggestions before I go down this route.

In my particular case, the problem was caused by the Override Engine extension. There were two mail oriented functions (newMail and newTemplate) that were not present in the factory class. Updating to the latest version (from Feb 22 2013) solved the problem for me.
