I have searched the forum and the web for this, but I have only found some questions about it.
I have also found some arguments against, so I will give you the feature request/suggest and why its needed;

Feature Request:
Let the store owner decide whitch order statuses that will return the items on stock. This could be set in localisation/order_status.
If the store owner changes the order status from Pending to Cancel, the products for that order should be returned to stock. If the store owner changes the same order back to Pending, the stock should be deducted from the products on that order.

Why?:
I never delete an order, I cancel it instead. I also sell on COD, and some customer never go to the post office get their order, so its returned to me.
It’s a pain, to go thru all orders and return the products to stock one by one. And I guess im not the only one that have to do this.
I have seen some arguments that you have to investigate your return to see that its ok before you return it to stock, and of course you have to do that. That’s why I have (on my osc-store) one status called "Reversed" and one "Reversed (back on stock)", the later one return the products on stock.
I have used osCommerce for 8 years, and I have a modified add-on for that feature in my osCommerce store now I hope its ok to put a link to the add-on, http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2199

I have just started working with OpenCart, and fix the things I need for to administrate the shop easily and it would be nice to have something like this in the core of OpenCart

Cheers,
Fredrik
