[vQmod] - Best Offer Price Field (v1.5.x) (FREE)

(tested with 1.5.0 thru 1.5.5.1)

This mod will add a Best Offer field to the product page allowing a customer to submit his own custom price offer.
Useful for things like Gift Cards, Donations, etc.

It re-purposes either the "sku", "location", or "upc" fields in the product edit page to trigger the Best offer flag. Simply add "obo" to one of those fields that you don't use in your store. As long as one of those fields has "obo" it will show the Best Offer option on the product page.

I have a min. price that I will take for a product, how do I integrate that into this mod? instead of letting them choose whatever price they want for the product?

I agree with being able to set a minimum price. Also, I would like to be able to approve the obo BEFORE the customer can check out. Possibly send an email that an obo has been offered?

Best offer price field looks great, but if you can make type of field where customer needs to be registered before applying offer and offer to be confirmed by seller before closing the deal would be much better.

I am sure a lot of us would happily buy this extension.

Please make something like eBay is using and I am sure it would be big hit ;)

Okay so I can't seem to get this to work :( I have changed the file path within the xml file to point to my theme, I uploaded it to vQmod xml folder, added the obo to the sku text box for a product and noting has happened :(

I am using Version 1.5.2.1

You need to check the vqmod/vqmod.log for errors. Your theme is likely so far customized that it isn't matching the search string

nice one Q, I did't even realise vqmod chucked out errors, I've now integrated this into the theme and it works a treat. Great work once again.

the issue with the version is that it comes out an error code regarding $product_info

i suppose the code for it was changed?

please advise. needed it urgent. will be a good xmas gift for my charity website :(

This is beyond the scope of this mod. A mod like that would require a much larger interactive system of linking orders to an approval system. This is a simple freebie meant more for donation based systems. This isn't a full fledged "or best offer" system. I will look into a making an offer system with email and approval
