I am suffering from the same problem and use PayPal standard. All the orders are showing up missing.
Also I am new to opencart and also don't have choices for "Order Status" either in the store settings or in a completed order. Shouldn't there be choices in the dropdowns, especially in the order itself? I can't find anything on that but think it may be related, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have experienced this problem with PayPal for the first time today, and I have not made any changes in my shop recently. There are two orders missing today, I got email notifications from PP on both, but they never show in my OC order list. They do not show up in my IPN history in PP either, for that matter, only in my recent history.
Is there really no fix on this problem? Reading this thread, it seems to have been here for some time now.

Agreed with post above! Same problems with PayPal standard! However, I've been using it for 4 months problem free! Only today it has stopped working.. no errors in log pointing to a problem? PUZZLED!!
This missing order problem has occurred with my shop today too. Using opencart Version 1.5.3.1, it has never happened before, I'm using paypal standard which has been working flawlessly for several years, I get the usual email confirmation from paypal but no opencart order confirmation and the order only shows up in missing orders.

My issue was resolved by someone who helped me. It turns out the order status's needed to be installed. Then all orders worked as expected. I had nothing in the localization/order status so the orders were just missing.
Same problem here :-(
All Paypal Standard orders go under Missing, the transaction is made, there are paypal notifications but nothing from OC.
There is a Thank you and Success Page but nothing in the order history..
I'm using a fresh install of 1.5.4 version, please share if you find a solution to this one, it's so annoying and I don't know what else to do, I've tried every suggestion found on this board.

Anyone had paypal standard work on on Opencart 1.5.4 and then suddenly stop showing orders in Admin?
Guys!!!...It is really simple. To all of you having problem with paypal standard (but worked OK before) not working properly and suddenly not showing orders in your dashboard but hiding them as missed orders instead. There is no problem with opencart!!, there is no problem with paypal!!..NO need to do some coding!!. It is actually your HOSTING PROVIDER.. Just simply write to them what the problem is and you should be good to go. I have done it so and they fixed the problem. And is just fine as it was before. I have been crazy about it for days/weeks and blaming opencart and paypal but received an email from Paypal today:
Dear XXX,
Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). Instant Payment Notifications sent to the following URL(s) are failing:
https://www.tea-tee.co.uk/index.php?rou ... d/callback
If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.

I have been told by Paypal that there is nothing else they can do as it is something on my end. I have just contacted my service provider as rm79 suggested. Lets hope that they are not a pain to deal with regarding this issue.
