Hihhi,

Thanks for replying.. are u joseph from http://www.alreadymade.com ?
I chatted with Joseph and all seems well initailly, however i havent heard from him for almost a month. Its been close to 2 months since i made an enquiry. I was just wondering if there is any issues with my design required or has the website been setup, ready for testing and payment?

Sent a couple of emails but havent got any replies. Would appreciate if someone in the team can respond to my email. Thanks!

Regards

Hi there,
Yes, I am he... I've had a lot on my mind so I keep putting things off - sorry for ignoring you.
But great news, I've lost my licence and I've gained an extra hour a day to work on opencart templates everyday on my train ride to work.
I'm pretty sure I coded that template up already but it probably just needs a few finishing tests done. I'll contact you today by email to confirm.

I'm new to anything shopping cart oriented. Does a customized template need to be modified to work with each new release of OpenCart? Is this the case with all/most other shopping carts? The two free customized templates I have installed only show the product images for v1.3.4, but the default template shows everything correctly.

v1.3.3/4 was the first to change the way templates work. Up till now, most templates had minor changes. But now they all have to be ported to work with the new system

Is it anticipated that forseeable future releases of OC will not require template changes like this? How often might it be expected that a major revision could occur that would require changes to bring the template into compliance?

Technically this change should have been v1.4... by making it a point release people figured there was no big deal... it was a big deal and we are all scrambling to fix it. Hopefully versioning will be handled better in the future. But I think as far as templates, this design is considered to be "it". And now that template fallback is implemented, themes can be created with only a few files so updates won't be as painful.

I used the Starintek Template Generator to create a template for OpenCart 1.3.4. The problem is that the Starintek Template Generator is for 1.3.3. The header menu bar is not rendering properly: the icons are all shifted to the right, so they are now over the beginning of their respective menu word. Also, there is a red vertical line showing between each menu item. Does anyone know which file this is defined in, and how I might correct the code to fix this?

The Starintek Template Generator has been updated to work with v1.3.4.
