Database convert

I am currently running 1.5.1.3 on my current server. I am switching to a new server hosted by Arvixe which is running 1.5.4.1. I tired first in Admin Panel, the BACKUP option on old server and RESTORE on new server and that did not work.
I tried a free Import/Export tool and that did not work.

Unfortunately my current host did not give me CPanel info, which I have on my new host. They only gave me the OC Admin info and won't give me CPanel (and they don't even know I'm leaving yet).

My dilemma is I want to get my products/categories onto the new server. I have already FTP's the images, but having issues with the product/category DB.

I could either have someone update the current server from 1.5.1.3 to 1.5.4.1 and then back up from OC Admin Panel then as files would be same version or convert the current 1.5.1.3 db files to 1.5.4.1 or another option.

I don't know how to do either so any advise with pricing would be appreciate.

I would do this for £50GBP. I shall PM you,

back up the 1.5.1.3 and in a test environment, upgrade it to v1.5.4.1. Then move it over to your new database (hosted by arvixe). That should be easy to do. I don't think you need to hire anyone for this

I need to do the same thing, move from one server to another with a different domain name.
Can anyone give me a step by step?

MarketInSG, his site is very complex with numerous extensions and was not a standard upgrade by any means and ultimately has taken far more time than initially expected and was working until 3am!

He would not be able to do it himself and there is no need to get up on your high horse about it as it can ruin businesses and reputations

if you begin with vqmod, there won't be any headache in future. Upload all new opencart files, upload all new mod files. done. Simple upgrade. Upgrading had never been much more easy with vqmod around

These were not vqmod upgrades otherwise it would be a lot simpler.

Would a 1513 site work with an upgraded db to 154x?
