Installationproblem

First post here...
Found this intresting piece of software when searched for a more fresh package for my webshop (currently zen). Having a quite fresh VPS running Centos, Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.3. But...
Runned over a problem while trying to install OC, i get a blank page when try to start, also, index.php attemps to download insted of execute, but when tested with an test-phpscript it works fine. There are a handful other php-sites on the box and they works fine. Any suggestions to what to do?
As note, on my local Ubuntu with PHP5.3 the installscript works fine.

if it tries to execute, then it does not recognize that .php extension is supposed to run as php. On normal servers, this is usually fixed by adding this to the htaccess
Addhandler application/x-httpd-php .html .php
