How do I translate site settings?

I hava an opencart 1.5.4.1 website with two languages. But site settings page (setting/setting) has only one set of fields for store name, store owner etc, common for all languages. So, how do I set those fields to be different for each language?

As standard, this is not possible I'm afraid. You would have to recode it (and it would be pretty difficult to do so)

I'll take your word for it and won't try recoding anything.

Anyway, I overcomed the problem, which was mainly the site name and address shown in one language in contact form, by adding the info for each language in the language file and replacing the data source in the controller file so they are loaded from the language file instead of the configuration settings. All of that with a vqmod file of course.
