Adds direct URLs support for downloads.

You can specify URLs instead of filenames at downloads creation. This gives ability to store download files at another servers or even link to third-party downloads.

At the same time Remaining Downloads are working as usual and file sizes are displayed.

Direct links aren't exposed at shop's pages, HTTP redirect is used to navigate customer to download.

You can get this mod here.

P.S. This mod is compatible with eGoods.

can you set the download link to expire after download? what i mean is, say its £x per download, a customer pays, clicks the link and downloads.

What stops them from saving the link and re downloading again another day? or passing the link to someone else?

Thats the right question! Direct links are not exposed (so usual "press right mouse button, copy link" approach will not work). But after redirect true link may be seen in browser download asset.

Sure, its not so secure and link may be really shared. There is another question. What stops people from sharing downloaded file by their own?

Hey Max,

I bought your extension, thanks for adding this functionality.

However I can't get it to work, hope you can help.
I extracted to root but the downloads still look the same, not allowing me to add a url instead of uploading a file ..

I use opencart 1.5.1.1 and vqmod 2.1.7

Thanks, Orlando

I have sent you greetings e-mail, you could answer it directly :-)

It can happen because of outdated opencart version (downloads part got changed lately).
Please install demi-upgrade for downloads part. I attach it to this message.
