Hi all, been searching through the forum for any information on my problem but have not found anything that works so if someone can assist i would be grateful.
The problem started when (i think) when our hosting company change the paths and we encountered problems trying to get on the shop site and the admin login. We have now changed the paths in both config files and the shop opens and everything seems to work ok. When we go to the admin section the login page opens for the entry of username and password but will not accept (or maybe it does accept) the user info and just kind of refreshes the login page and changes the url in the url address bar. If i enter a bad password then the login page shows a message to say input is incorrect. I downloaded and installed the ocreset file and tried this and the users are still listed. If someone can tell me where to look to try and sort this i would be grateful. When going to the admin the url address bar shows www.beenatural.be/admin and when i enter the username and password the address changes to http://www.beenatural.be/admin/index.ph ... ffa64f9175 but the page stays the same

the page shows the same, but the link shows that it is logged in. From the link you get when you login, try changing index.php?route=common/home to index.php?route=catalog/product

Hi thanks for the offer, i am at the moment just going through this with our hosting company who have replied saying there was a problem in the sessions path that they have now changed, but i have just retryed and the problem is the same. I will wait a while for their next reply and if they have not fixed anything i will pm you some admin login details.

Been playing around with the shop site so maybe i can add a few more comments hoping someone can assist.
Can anybody explain to me how the index & config in the root directory can function ok but the index & config will not function correctly when they look like they both do the same sort of thing and set paths to the same folders. After entering the info at the admin login page the url changes as if it is logged in but the page stays the same although the error messages are displayed if incorrect data is input. There are posts stating different problems causing this but i cannot find where anyone posted a solution. I have downloaded the complete admin section and copied it into my test shop on localhost (except config file) and everything runs ok but i cannot see any problem with the config file in admin and the paths are the same as the root config which works ok.

Firstly like to say thanks to those who have offered assistance with this problem. After lots of looking and contacting the hosting company i found a solution to the problem but do not really know why this was the original cause of it. I noticed that in the root directory there was no php.ini file (it had been renamed to phpold) and the shop side worked perfectly letting customers login and logout. I looked at the admin directory and there was a php.ini that had the same script as the original one installed on upload of opencart. I renamed the file also to phpold.ini and viola i was able to login to the admin again and everything seems to be working correctly. Can anyone tell me why my site will not run with the php.ini files present and even more so why it runs perfectly without them.

Site is working perfectly now with no php.ini files installed in the root or admin. Had a reply from the hosting company about this and have been informed that our php.ini file is stored and set elswhere and i suppose this is what was causing the problem. I will leave everything as is for now and see if everything goes ok over the next few days.

Hi,
I have the same problem, can not login to my admin.

I have installed OC a few months ago.
Working OK. I have installed Dutch language, also working OK.
Last month I tried to instal Ideal payment module, not completed it yet, a lot of problems but everything was working fine in shop and admin.
Then, I deleted a few languages wicht I know was stupid to do ::)
Got a lot of errors on top of the shop and in admin.
But it was still working fine.
So today tried to upload the languages again and everything is a mess.
I can not login to my admin page, says name and password do not match. I am using the correct login name and password.
Tried the tpis written above my post but nothing is working....

Who can please help me ???

Thanks in advance,
Johanna

Ensure your username and password are correct, i did this by uploading the ocreset.php to the root and running to check or change your password. Not sure of the link but just do a search on the forums to find it. My passwords where ok and no error was shown just a looping login page which was caused by the hosting company making changes to the file paths and relocating the php.ini files.

Which url is the one for your shop is it the mudoto.nl as the shop site seems to come up ok and the admin login page which rejects a incorrect username and password. Did you check that your username and password are still in the database and have not been corrupted in anyway ?. When you enter your username and password does the url in the address bar change to show you logged in or do you just get the red error box saying username or password incorrect ?

Looks like you are looking in the database for something that is not there, have you tried restoring your database from a backup (assuming you have one). You should be able to check your database in your control panel and mysql or myphpadmin to establish if these fields are there and also your user information. Had a quick search of the forums for the error you have and there are other posts about this where the fault occured when installing or upgrading OC maybe you can read through these and see if they help. Your problem is not the same as i encountered.

Hi,
No I have 2 problems
Problem 1 is that I can not login to my OC dashboard, the same problem you had.
Second problem is the corrupted database from the url. I have a backup and did try to restore it but the problem remaned...

I will surch further on this forum for the database problem.
Still don't understand why I can not login to my OC dashboard...

Hi, not really sure but the users are also stored in the database so if you have a problem with this then you will not be able to login to your administration section. Maybe you will have to do a complete re-install of OC first backing up the config files in the root and admin and then overwriting the installed ones and restoring your database from your backup. Sorry i cannot help beyond this but php is not really my thing and i usually resolve any problems i have with help from this forum.

I think that is a good solution you suggest.
Maybe that is the fastest way.
PhP also is not realy my thing and also solve my problems by asking on this forum.

I'll re-install after backup and let know how it is going.

Thank you a lot!
Johanna
