What does it do:

This contrib adds the ability to split your store categories into multiple category sideboxes.
Choose which categories go into which sidebox.
Create unlimited sideboxes with custom titles, all configurable from the admin


Main features:

* Unlimited module creation
* Completely Standalone. No core file edits
* Sideboxes can be placed anywhere (left, right, top, bottom)
* Sideboxes can be placed on any layout
* Sideboxes use the module system and can be enabled/disabled individually
* Mix and Match categories in any way you like

Similar to the Category Box Clone for v1.4.x
But this one offers unlimited boxes and more powerful than ever.

Thx. It was my first 1.5.x module. Turned out better than expected

somehow I missed it when you first posted. It looks really nice. I know I have had people ask me about several of these functionalities.

New Styles Feature!

Now you can choose from different view styles: normal list, select box, or graphical

I can't get it working. I've installed it and I think I've set all the settings right, but it doesn't show. What could I do wrong?

jus bough the module and it's nice and intuitive, easy to use. One thing I would like to do but not sure how is add products in the selected category/ies to appear in the module?

I have a category called courses, 4 sub cats hill walking, climbing, winter skills and gift vouchers, and I'd like to set up the module if possible so that on the courses page the sidebox displays;

hill walking
climbing
winter skills
vouchers

and if it's on the hill walking page it'll look like;

hill walking
bronze hill walking
silver hill walking
gold hill walking
climbing
winter skills
vouchers

etc.

Could you please help me to achieve this?

I figured I'd have to give courses, hill walking, climbing, winter skills and vouchers their own layout overides but not sure how to get the products to appear and then only for the current category?

v152.2 - 2012-May-22
- Added ability to assign subcategories without parents
- Sped up the query process on the front end.
- Fixed bug with "layout_id" not found error until you edit/save

By popular demand, now you can choose subcategories to appear in the boxes without their parents

Just found this add-on today. Looks super cool! Nice work Q!

I'm wondering what kind of mileage I might get using a custom theme?
