[RESOLVED: this happened because a change made by the host to their php/perl/cgi whatevers... They said scripts that went into /hermes/bosweb/etc... had to be changed to something else. If you're expericing this, contact your host with the error message]
I just got an email from my client that this is what appears when she tries to view her page...
I haven't made ANY changes to the site.
I really don't know enough php/coding to debug this. I found a few people with the same problems on searching, but none of them had an answer about what to do or what caused this. I'm leaning towards a host issue, or config file issue.

As I mentioned, I haven't changed anything, but this is what appears when you view the page...
Please help :(

The error say's all: there is no storefront/system/startup.php

Check the system folder if all files are there. Compare it with the original package.

I have checked all those paths and all the files are there.

The only thing I know how to do at this point is delete the whole thing and reinstall a store.

Or upload another opencart somewhere else on my host and see if it's a host issue

Gosh, I'm now wishing I had taken more time to learn what vqmod is and how to use it...
