I havent got a lot of experience working with website and ecommerce so if I am asking prety basic questions please forgive me. I have searched for an answer for this but I havent found an answer yet. I may be using the wrong terminology which probably doesnt help.
I am using Opencart 1.53
Last night I purchased Proshop3 in order to progress the development of my ecommerce site. I downloaded it and unzipped the file. When I transferred the copy to my folder where I store my webfiles it did mention something about transferring the files without encryption (this may have a bearing on it not working). I used filezilla to upload them to the shop/catalogue/theme folder.
I went on to my opencart admin and looked for in in the system/store template and it hasnt installed. I think it is in various folders all over the site and it is in a mess.
Is it worth trying to install again or just go for an installation of vers 1.5.4 as I am not too sure if I will manage to upgrade this without assistance anyway. I only have about 10 products details in the store at present so hopefully there wont be too much work anyway if I go for a clean install. This method may be easier than trying to find Proshop files all over the place and deleting them in order to reinstall it properly.
Am I right in trying to install it the shop/catalogue/theme folder or is there somewhere else I should be putting them?
Sorry for my ramble with basic questions but I dont know anyone local to me who could sit down and talk me through it all.

it should be in the catalog/view/theme/ folder. to delete and install all over will be up to you
I downloaded the latest version of opencart this moring and then uploaded it. I also uploaded my Proshop 3 template.
In my settings/store/ template Proshop 3 shows up. However the proslider under modules is missing. When I save and go to store front it is still the default template showing and not Proshop3. It has uploaded to catalog/view/theme/proshop3 and default template as per instructed.
Any advice would be welcome.

if you purchased a theme, you can always contact the theme developer for support

I have emailed the company but as they took 3 days the last time to answer I thought I might get a possible solution on the forum a lot quicker, especially if it was an obvious error on my behalf! The members on this forum are brilliant and I have learned a lot from reading the posts. Unfortunately some of the posts dont mean much to me as they are a bit technical for my brain but I am willin g to learn.

do you see the theme you uploaded in system > settings > edit store? If yes, search the forum a little more. There's quite a few topic on themes not changing
I have just uploaded 'nature' theme and it is working ok. Looks like it could be Proshop3 there is aproblem with. Hope their support gets in touch soon to reslove the issue as I am getting fed up waiting on them replying to me.
