Multi Shipping

I'm experimenting with 2 stores (multi-stores) with one being of course a subdomain.

The subdomain store has a totally different country for its address.

Question is:

If while on the subdomain store, does the shipping rates key off that address OR the address from the main store?

Shipping methods use the location entered by the customer during checkout -- it doesn't matter what the store location is.
