The admin menus have animation which I think are dictated by jQuery,

is there an easy way to remove the animation?

You can improve it at least:
1. EDIT: admin/view/template/common/menu.tpl
2. FIND:
speed : 'normal',
3. REPLACE WITH:
speed : 'fast',

It helps at least.

I also changed delay

superfish site describes the property as:
the delay in milliseconds that the mouse can remain outside a submenu without it closing
I changed to delay: 600,

Just improves usability for older users I think in case they move out of the target area

you increased the delay? or is that the delay before it hides again? I thought that would be delay before it shows which would be even slower than it already is :P
