I have just made a quite new clean install of your version 1.5.2.1 but after two new installation trials
there is still no images in the store and no menu in admin (just the dashboard).

I have checked the mysql file and all seems to be there. Config files are correct and all mentioned folders/files
are at 777.
Store address: http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/

How to fix this?

div class="image"><a href="http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/index.ph ... d=43"><img src="http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/image ... -80x80.jpg" alt="MacBook" /></a></div>

Your images are not in the default location, but that is not wrong so long as config.php has a similar path. The default setup has images in /store/image/data/imagename.jpg and the config.php image path is /store/image/

Whatever you do, that path in the config.php must have a "/" at the end or it won't work.

Many thanks indeed for your quick reply!
I have reinstalled totally once again with a new mysql and have following everything. But same problem.

"Images are not in the default location" - What cause this problem?

I have changed paths in both config.files to "butik3/image/data/" - on all 3 places.

It was no change. Still no images,buttoms etc

and where the menu should be in admin i get the following fault:
[function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /storage/content/27/148127/linux2.sisaco.eu/public_html/butik3/admin/controller/common/home.php on line 65Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /storage/content/27/148127/linux2.sisaco.eu/public_html/butik3/admin/controller/common/home.php on line 69Warning: sprintf()

The installation process writes the correct config.php. You do not need to change it.

Here is what your config.php should look like, both in the /bitik3 folder and the /bitik3/admin folder:

Code: Select all

<?php
// HTTP
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.butik3.com/store/');
define('HTTP_IMAGE', 'http://www.butik3.com/store/image/');
define('HTTP_ADMIN', 'http://www.butik3.com/store/admin/');

// HTTPS
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.butik3.com/store/');
define('HTTPS_IMAGE', 'https://www.butik3.com/store/image/');
followed by directory path setup for store files, then MySQL connection strings...

Many thanks again!
However the file was like yours (original) and it does not work.
How can it be like large problem that when one follow all instructions?
I have compared it with our working 1.5.1.3 store and the config files are the same.
Admin login: Janne, ostervagen
<?php
// HTTP
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/admin/');
define('HTTP_CATALOG', 'http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/');
define('HTTP_IMAGE', 'http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/image/');
Here is a clip from our config files.
// HTTPS
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/admin/');
define('HTTPS_IMAGE', 'http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/image/');

It sounds like a permissions issue on the new folders. Check that the folder permissions are equal site to site. If they are the same and don't work... Good luck.

How is the server settings?

What's the difference between the OpenCart Templates and Prestashop Themes?

Many thanks to all who try to help us with this!

Re: Server settings. Pre-inst: PHP setting, all 5 good. Extension, all 4 good, Files: writable. Directories: writable.

Re: Permission. There was 4 changes but nothing improved.

Still faults in store, (text gone with Ctrl-5 each time) and no admin menu.
[function.imagecreatefromjpeg]: '/storage/content/27/148127/linux2.sisaco.eu/public_html/butik3/image/data/canon_logo.jpg' is not a valid JPEG file in /storage/content/27/148127/linux2.sisaco.eu/public_html/butik3/system/library/image.php on line 34Warning: imagecopyresampled(): supplied argument is not a valid Image resource in /storage/content/27/148127/linux2.sisaco.eu/public_html/butik3/system/library/image.php on line 89Warning: imagedestroy(): supplied argument is not a valid Image resource in /storage/content/27/148127/linux2.sisaco.eu/public_html/butik3/system/library/image.php on line 90Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg()

Tablets. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 point to http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/image/ca ... 28x228.jpg
and this image are in this directory, but no image shows.

Category desktops, Mac, iMac image should be http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/image/ca ... -74x74.jpg,
but this image is missing in that directory!
Cameras: Canon-EOS-5D image shall be http://linux2.sisaco.eu/butik3/image/ca ... 28x228.jpg, this image missing too!
None of theese files in image/data either.

I have talked to our service provider and they can see that the store not can find any images and that several images are missing in ”image/data” or ”image/cache/data” but everything on their side looks good and I belive them. They think it could be some pointing fault or a faulty file and of course missing jpeg files. (I have tried to installed the software from two different downloads). I also have compared them and they are equal.

Sorry, maybe I should mention that there is 21 "objects" in "image/cache/data" and 87 "objects" in "image/data" dir.

For certain, the permissions on /store/image needs to be 777, /store/image/cache needs to be 777, /store/image/data needs to be 777.

The way the image system works, you upload to /image/data, and Open Cart will automatically create the images per your settings in the admin settings for your store. There are defaults, so you don't need to change anything for the sample store. When I browse your store, Open Cart will display images from /image/cache/data so you might need to check the permissions on that folder and set them to 777.

Thanks for your quick reply!
image, image/cache, image/cache/data and image/data all have 777 permission.
However, I still note that some jpeg files in image/cache/data have 644 while the other are 777 and they can not be changed to 777. All jpegs in image/data are 777.
I have checked the store again both with Explorer 8 and Firefox and still no change in images and menus.

You have two folders that are non-standard, tagbort and flags. Do they have any function?

The link you posted as a different URL. What is the address of your root site as known to DNS servers? I now think the issue is the network path. Is linux2 a subdomain of public_html, a different root altogether? My assumption has been that the store folder(bitek3) has a root of /public_html/ however, I now believe that linux2 is a subdomain of sisaco.eu and that public_html is somewhere under sisaco.

Is there some reason your path is not http://www.sisaco.eu/bitek3/index.php? That path returns a 404, so where is the store relative to the real httpd process root?

My special thanks to "mc49285" who have great efforts to help us!
However, we have now solved it.
How? Unfortunately we do not know.
I saw there was an sql bug in installation program, maybe something there. (in 1.5.3 "FIXED:SQL error in install").
We downloaded OC again from another place and we deleted sql and subdomain.
We then made a new subdirectory again and a new sql-base with different name and password.
Then we installed and all worked!

Yes I also had a problem with images not displaying after I installed OC 1.5.4 on a 123 Reg server.

I had to set the permissions to 755 for image/cache/data/demo
and also image/data/demo
and all new directories inside image

For some bizarre reason 123 Reg defaults to 644 on new directories/folders
