Hi all, ive just downloaded open cart and ive been pretty impressed with it (weve been using zencart in the past, and this is so much easier to manage) however im having a bit of trouble with themes. Basically if i change the theme in the admin panel, to our new theme, it doesnt change the theme in the store. I eventually solved by manually pointing the layout.tpl file at the correct stylesheet, and was wondering if this was supposed to work like this, or am i doing something wrong? also in this post http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2657 it mentions files and folders that dont appear in my install (1.3.2) and was wondering wether this applied to an older version or again am i doing something wrong? any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I had to change a couple of files because it still points to pictures in the default folder. I had to make sure that it's also pointing to the right css file.

The default folder is a self contained theme. So if you want to make a new template, using the default theme as a basis, just copy that folder. Let's say you call the new folder mynewtemplate
Then, open the template/common folder inside of the mynewtemplate folder. Edit the layout.tpl file - that's the main one with the stylesheet links.
Update your stylesheet links in that file.

If you find an image that is still pointing to the default image folder, then you will need to update the image inside the template, because the image may be hardcoded in the file. Just do a search for default/image or similar.
