How do I upload my template?

I have a template, unzipped. But how do I actually get it from my computer on to my website?

By using a FTP client. If you don't want to purchase one there are some free ones. I would suggest:

It's fairly simple to use, or if you are using Firefox, there is an addon called FireFTP which is probably easier than WinSCP.

I use filezilla from www.filezilla-project.org
You just need to have your domain, username and password for the website that you are connecting to - then you drag the files across from your computer to the remote computer.
