Being able to assign Attributes for a Category

I have a site I am currently working on that has roughly 2,000 products that I will have to go in and set the attributes for each one individually instead of just doing so through each category. This would be a huge time saver and I cannot imagine it being a difficult feature to add on.

Some shops that are using opencart are not just retail stores but attribute based shops like a wire manufacturer. Clients are shopping based on thickness, military id, etc. and each category would have the same attributes so rather than have to assign the same attributes for each product in a category just assign the attributes for the category.
