Hi all, ive tried searching but return no exact results :(

I have a few things and want to know if you could explain, or link me to the correct instructions, or does anybody know an info site for the basics of editing a the standard template.

1. I want to change my page titles on my pages, BUT when I did this for home page in admin, it also made the page title a visible title in the centre colum as a title for the "welcome to your store" part. Is there a way I can just edit the page title as in the title that appears next to the firefox.explorer icon at the top of the window?

2. Can I set my header as a large image, I dont mean the logo as I have done this, but the header itself, if so, any idea which part of the stylesheet I change/add to.

3. ON the left Categories Nav Bar, is there any module or anything that allows me to add sub cetegories, AND add a hover CSS menu like seen on the left hand side here: http://thesnipers.co.uk/

4. On the red horizontal Nav bar, is there a way I can situate the search box within here instead of in the header? And can I move/Change special offers as well?

Any help would be so much appreciated

Regards

1. add stuff to the <title> tag in the catalog/view/theme/default/template/common/layout.tpl file
2. See how imaginetech does his: http://www.shop.imaginetech.com.au/ He uses a background image. view the source and css to see his settings. Or just use one of his or one of the free templates that are available that already use a banner style header as your base.
3. You often refer to this site as your example. But what you are describing is not what I see. I see single level categories with no subcategories at all. So i don't understand what you are looking for. The yellow color when hovering is just simple css hover
4. You need to edit the common/search.tpl file to clean up all but the input and submit button. Then edit the common/header.tpl to move the <?php echo $search; ?> bit to the link bar at the end. Following the formatting of the <li> tags to keep it inline.
