first you need to install the languages.
you can find spanish here http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ch=spanish
once installed in admin go to each page and translate them into desired language. this needs to be done for products, categories and information pages. all static text such as links, box headers and information such as the welcome message will be translated with the new language pack you install.
