e,it seems that there is few things need to modify to make it work with shoppica theme.
As far as to our one page checkout.
Just the tpl files of chekcout, shopping cart and success.

One Page Checkout Professional - More flexible and powerful one page checkout solution.
One Page Checkout Standard - Best one page checkout solution, separate module,no core files replace.
Product Import Export - Bulk insert update download product excel format.

With over 3400 purchases and rising, I doubt the issue will go away any time soon unfortunately, though you'd think with the money they must have made that they would at least start trying to fix all the issues for it

Q -

Question about making the checkout pages SEO URL friendly. Could I do the following and have it work (since I have a mod that generates SEO friendly URLS for other cart pages):

Using phpMyAdmin: update database for checkout 1 and checkout 2 SEO url
Go to url_alias table and Insert new data:

Query: checkout/checkout_one
Keyword: checkout_one

Query: checkout/checkout_two
Keyword: checkout_two

In doing this, would it replace:

/index.php?route=checkout/checkout_one

with just:

/checkout_one

Or am I way off on that one, I'm just guessing and it's not a big deal, really just trying to understand how things work.

thanks!

Since Q's on holiday for a week, I'll answer for him:

No, that wouldn't work. The code in the seo_url.php file only looks for category, information, manufacturer, or product pages, so you'd have to modify that as well.

Hi Q, would your plugin alert the customer if they added an item which is no longer in stock? our products are limited in quantity and many customers backed out because they couldn't checkout due to out of stock. thanks

The cart handles that already. That is not part of the checkout process. You set the "Stock Checkout" to YES if you don't want to require stock check in the system settings.

Hi Q,

Is there any way after login, if the cart is empty, the customer redirect to account page instead of shopping cart?

Great mod Q and easy to install!

I'd like to change the layout of checkout_one.tpl a little, and just wondering if you could have a look at it?

I like the default checkout step 1, so would like to leave that, and then if the customer checks the "Express Checkout" (Guest Checkout) option, then the lower part of your checkout_one.tpl page slides down/up (as if you were sliding into default Checkout Step 2).

Something like this:

And then the customer selects express/guest checkout and this slides down/up/replaces the shot above:

Then it proceeds as usual. If they enter their details and click "Continue" they are sent to checkout_two.tpl. If they click "Back", it slides back up to the first pic above.

Easy? Difficult? PM me if you'd prefer. Thanks

I heart cmd-f, cmd-c, cmd-v, cmd-z + vQmod.
My favourite page...

To be honest, I'm looking at getting rid of the checkout one step mainly because is it a pain to keep supporting all these drastic themes like shoppica, sellegance, shopcart, tees, clothing, etc... They go too far overboard from what a proper theme method should be and I end up spending more time porting their theme to work with uber checkout..

So I'm looking to drop that file and either make a single page checkout...
OR
Allow people to use the normal login/registration pages and leave the checkout_two page as the last page only

Why can't there just be one base "theme" for your extension ... and then the respective user is responsible for styling it to fit their store accordingly?

Don't worry about those crazy themes. If a web theme can't stick to some commont OpenCart web theme standards then just ignore it. As long as the Uber Checkout works for the default web theme, that's all we need.

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig

An option to allow the normal login/registration page (and original checkout step one ;)) sounds good to me. I might have another look at cutting and pasting the code to see if I can get what want working...

I started modifying Shoppica when I was upgrading to 1.5, but I'm so glad that I found out early about the difficulties in doing mods and getting extensions to work out of the box and ditched it for a regular theme.

I heart cmd-f, cmd-c, cmd-v, cmd-z + vQmod.

While I agree with what you're saying J Neuhoff, unfortunately people are quite commonly using those themes and demand it works with them. One possible solution would be an "addon" as a separate extension you could charge a little more for to cover the costs of having to upgrade for those too, so that if people want to use that theme they can, but will need to pay for the specific development of that portion of uber checkout

Exactly. As bad as these themes are in coding, they are very attractive... which means more and more people have them.
But it is really difficult to get work done when 60% of support questions start like this....
"I am using your mod but it isn't working. Btw I'm using shoppica"
But if I don't make it work, who will? Customers will get annoyed, down vote my mods, etc.
So I try my damnedest to make custom versions of mods or make my mods as theme independent as possible.
