Maybe this has been done, but I've poured over the forums and extensions and haven't found a solution. My site will be based on search results to find products, rather than mining through category pages.

I would like each of my categories to have their own specific section to the results page, much like if you search for "blue" in iTunes you would see a few results for Apps, Albums, Songs, Books, etc all matching that search query....but each would show up under a heading for the category. You could then click "see all" to filter a specific category.

Is this possible? Thanks!

Thanks for the response trinkaljuneja! Maybe I don't understand what grabbing the category ID and adding it to the search query does for me.

If I add a category filter to the search I can only see one category at a time, no?

I want all categories to be present on the results page, with products sorted under each category heading. Thanks again for your help!

I still haven't figured out a good way of setting up search results like this.

I would be willing to pay for an extension if someone can put this together. Thanks for any help or insight!
