random items in carousel

Is there anyway to make the carousel display random items from a category?

I like the idea of the carousel but I just want it to select X number of random items to display.

I am comfortable coding but new to Opencart.

Any help would be appreciated.

I just updated it, you can now display it as a carousel. Redownload it from your account and reupload it to your store.
