Is there anyone who can make an “upsell” extension? Upselling is proven to increase sales during the checkout process or from the shopping cart (but better during the first page of checkout). Several websites use this feature such as Amazon when they make product suggestions to you as you proceed to checkout and they are based on related products or custom options. I have seen it on other open source carts, but have not seen it for Opencart. If there is something like this already please point me in the right direction, because my searches in this website have turned up nothing like it.

I too would find the option to cross sell really useful. The extensions above recommend a product, based on the purchases that other customers have made. I have previously used carts that allow the store owner to ask the customer if they would like to also buy a <i>particular</i> product, when they add something to the cart - true cross-selling. I wonder if anything like this is in development? I would certainly be willing to pay for it, given the huge increase in sales it previously gave me.

I'd imagine that that would really fall under the remit of the related products but I can see how it would be useful in the checkout for related products to also show based on products in the cart. I may have a mod for you in the not too distant future, or may even integrate it as an option in my current Also Bought module
