Dear All,

I've installed OpenCart v1.5.3.1 on WAMP, and I'd like to know how to install a new language pack (i.e, French) into a subdirectory (or subfolder).
When clicking on the French flag on the Store Front, the URL structure would be http://localhost/MySite/fr/.
This task may seem easy for some, but if someone could provide a step-by-step guide "for Dummies", it would be much appreciated.

@menorcarob

Thank you for your fast reply. This procedure will just change the language in the Store Front, but not the URL structure. The idea behind installing the new language into a subdirectory (or subfolder) is to separate the languages, in order to keep the content for each language on separate URLs. On an SEO point of view, this procedure is recommended for multilingual websites (Read "Multi-regional and multilingual sites": http://support.google.com/webmasters/bi ... wer=182192).

Anyone ?

then i think you would have to create a site for each language, or maybe you could do it by having more than one shop and then the language button diverts to that folder

These could be alternatives... however there's an easier way such as organizing the languages in directories (i.e, mysite.com/ru/, mysite.com/fr/, mysite.com/cn/). In theory it seems easy, but in practice...it's driving me nuts. I've searched in the OpenCart forum, Googled it, praised it... found nothing.

Hi menorcarob.

Well, I've translated and installed danish language, put'em in catalog/language and admin/language, inserted locale and details and it seems ok.... However, whenever I try to view the product page I cannot see the product... I get a message that says the there's something wrong, for instance this: http://www.nivinngaavik.gl/iShop/index. ... duct_id=42 with the words that tells me it's not configured correctly... Any ideas?

Thx,
Daniel
