Database upgrade from 1.5.1 to 1.5.3.1

Hi, interesting challenge here, I have a current website built on 1.5.1, however due to dozens of extensions installed, multiple edits, including core file editing (yes i know, i know!) it's become very unstable, so I've engaged a developer to build a brand new website for me from scratch on 1.5.3.1, in a test environment and install the modules, and make the non-vqmod ones into vqmod so as to preserve the core files intact.

The challenge here is that I have hundreds of products in my old site, descriptions, customer history etc, and want that in the new site, however it seems that the db has changed a lot from 1.5.1 to 1.5.3.1 ... and I don't think I can use an automatic script upgrade (can I?) because the old files are all messed up due to so many developers each working on installing their own modules on my site, disregarding everybody elses work.

Any idea how can I move my old db into my new site?

One way I can suggest is, you just run the upgrade script on your v1.5.1 store. Then go to the database, grab the sql codes, import it into your new store's database.

In a very similar scenario with my products and clients, so I just want to hear what the possible answers could be

well, the script is in opencart's download. inside the install folder. That means, just do manual upgrade.

I have the same issue, I am currently running 1.5.1 but want to move to 1.5.3.1 because I want to use the new feature like order editor.

I do not mind if I have fresh installed of all the file, except that I want to recover all my DB like Customer DB, Products and catalogs and transactions.

Is it possible?

you just have to run the upgrade. you won't lose anything here
