Hi,

I'm just setting my cart. It seems to be a very nice cart too, especially free.

I'm trying to configure my SEO friendly URLs. The server has mod_rewrite enabled and I changed the htaccess from a txt file and enabled "Use SEO URL's" in administration. I haven't done anything else.

But the cart does show SEO URL's. I haven't uploaded any products yet. I was wondering if someone knew what more I have to do?

Thank you

Hello Fella,

Here's a quick checklist:

1. Switch on SEO friendly urls in Admin.
2. Make sure the SEO keywords for all products and categories have been filled in and all of them are unique.
3. Check your .htaccess file to see url rewrite is on.
4. Check your server allows url rewrite (most do).

Hope the above helps.

4. Check your server allows url rewrite (most do).

Hope the above helps.

I see in the Administrator section that a lot of products don't have SEO keywords in there. I'm sure that's the trouble.

I don't think I need RewriteBase because it's not in a sub directory.

Thanks

@Avvici

Thanks for the correction. I'll update my checklist. ;D

@Freejoy

You're welcome. If you've managed to get the SEO URL working, could you do us a favour and edit the title of your thread in the opening post to "[SOLVED] SEO URL - htaccess question"? That might save the moderators a bit of time and also help other users like me who search for this topic later.

Thanks and good luck with your site!
